Vita-Flex Technique

Vita flex literally translates to “vitality of the reflexes.” The technique has been around for a very long time–since ancient Tibet, in fact. 

Basically, it uses the body’s reflexes... found on the ears, hands, and feet... to transmit the therapeutic effects of essential oils into the body.

How does it work?

It’s no mystery that the human body has intricate electrical pathways. We witness this fact for ourselves whenever we feel the snap of static electricity or see someone’s hair stand up seemingly on its own.

Essential oils also possess electromagnetic frequencies. Together, the essential oils and the vita flex technique work along with those electrical impulses to produce a synergistic effect within the body.

The technique uses slight pressure against the reflex points. This produces an electrical charge, known as piezoelectric, caused by the fingers to occur. When properly performed, the electrical impulse from the fingers transfers along with the therapeutic qualities of the essential oil along the nerve pathways.

Once the essential oils have entered the neurological pathways, they begin filling in the shorts {or gaps} in the electrical system of the nerves. This leads to body systems being supported and wellness to pursue.

Besides diffusing — which is the quickest way for our bodies to absorb the properties of oils — the large pores on our feet allow essential oils to travel through our bodies at a very quick rate.

Use the chart below to figure out where you could apply essential oils for the best impact and relaxation.

For example the big toe has reflex points for the brain, pineal, and pituitary glands, the second and third toes have pressure points for the eyes, and the fourth and fifth toes for the ears. (I learned this over the last few weeks when I was dealing with a really painful ear infection.)

There are reflex points for ♥️ heart, lungs, spine, liver, bladder, etc, and massage points for pain.

The Technique

This technique for the foot uses a press, roll, and release motion that covers the area of the vita flex or pressure point. It is repeated three times using 1-2 drops of essential oil.

1. Apply 1-2 drops of essential oil to the reflex point 
2. Place all four fingers flat on the skin 
3. Using medium pressure roll up onto the fingertips
4. Continue rolling over to the fingernails
5. Release and move forward about ¼ of an inch
6. Repeat this motion until the reflex point is covered
7. Repeat technique three times
