Sharing Confidently
Think of compliance as your Green friend. She is detail oriented, fact-driven, and will call you out on your crap. Even though these traits can be irritating at times, you can still love her. She's honest, trustworthy, consistent, straightforward, and you always know what to expect from her. By making friends with Compliance and using her as an example for how you share, you are building a solid, honest business founded on integrity.
I want to empower you today to move forward in confidence when sharing Young Living with others in a way that helps them without stepping into a physician role (unless, of course, you are actually a doctor). One of the first steps to empowering yourself is to get your hands on a great Essential Oils Reference Guide and start learning about your oils.
It's important to remember that our friend, Compliance, is a Green personality and will therefore be who she is all the time as she is blunt, honest, and not afraid to be who she is. She will not show you one face out in public online and another one while speaking in front of a crowd. When out in public, speaking or online, she always puts her best foot forward and minds her manners. That is not to say she isn't more relaxed when hanging at home in her pajamas. Of course she is, and I'm sure she lets a few inappropriate words escape her lips when chilling on the couch (or when her kids are testing the boundaries). Let this be a great example for you to follow. When seen in public (yes, this includes social media and blog posting and commenting) be sure to choose your words carefully. When you're hanging out around the kitchen table or in a private setting, you can talk more personally, casually, and freely.
"We don't talk about disease, and we don't treat and cure disease. We are about lifestyle and strengthening the body through nutrition and the power of essential oils. When we do this, the body will take care of itself. We are about self-improvement and living life to the fullest. Everyone is different and no two products are the same; therefore, no two people respond to our products in the exact same way. By simply supporting and strengthening the body with a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition, everyone can have his or her own individual experience without trying to narrow it down to a specific product for a specific issue." ~ Gary Young
Even if you have experienced oils bringing you from below the wellness line to above it, you cannot publicly share that. But you CAN share how they keep you above the line. You can share your personal experiences and stories.
NO - "My allergies were awful today and Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint fixed me right up!"
YES - "Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint allowed me to enjoy the outdoors on this beautiful spring day, even with all the new flowers blooming around me."
Support! Affect! Maintain!
Internal Use & The Vitality Line
To be able to recommend oils for dietary use, Young Living established our Vitality Line. So, whenever you are speaking of taking an oil internally, you must reference Vitality, like Lemon Vitality for your water, and if you are using a photo and discussing internal use, you must use a photo of the bottle with the Vitality label. Yes, the oil is the same in both labeled bottles, however to keep Compliance (and the FDA) happy, that little rule stickler, you must use the correct name and photo.
By focusing on the positive aspects of our health and wellness and how oils support this we keep people positive, happy, and Compliance remains our friend. Focusing on the wellness aspect, rather than the unhealthy aspect, allows us to shine our light, illuminating the darkness. Be the light!
Reflect and Process What You Learned:
What hobbies, interests, or passions that are NOT oil-related are you going to start integrating more?
How can you pair your hobbies & interests with your biz?
Who can you reach by integrating what you love with your business?
What are you going to do for the sake of growth that might be outside of your comfort zone?
